The head coach of Kent Cricket Club, Joseph Pessima has said he was pleased that his team was able to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
“It was great to see different players standing up at key points throughout the Division One League with the whole squad contributing at some point. Their attitude and team spirit was outstanding” said Joseph.
During the last match KCC defeated Old Prince Waleans Cricket Club by seven (7) wickets on Saturday at the Prince of Wales Ground, Kingtom in the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) / Mercury T20 Division One League.
Kent reduced Old Prince Waleans to 109 all out. Old Prince Waleans wickets fell regularly with Emmanuel Akpoh (right arm orthodox) top their batting with 17runs. Kent’s Bockarie Abdul took 4 wickets in 4 overs for 19 runs, while Osman Thomas Sankoh took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 24 runs. Kent replied with 113 runs in 12.2 Overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Kent’s skipper James Bundu, top scoring with 55 runs not out off 43 balls and Osman Thomas Sankoh scored an incredible 22runs not out off 6 balls. This saw them promoted to the cricket premier league alongside Regent Olympics cricket team.
