Kent opens Division debut with victory


The Kent Cricket Club team has won the first game of the season thrashing Murray Town Cricket Club by 78runs in the on going Mercury T20 Division One League organised by the Sierra Leone Cricket Association.

Murray Town Cricket Club won the toss and decided to field first. In the 20 overs Kent Scored 143runs for 5. Kent opening batsman Idrissa Bah scored an impressive 57runs off 61 balls not out.

Murray Town Cricket Club replied with 65runs all out in 16.4 overs. In the Kent bowling, Sahr Gbla took 4wickets for 15runs in 4 overs and Mohamed Lamin Kamara took 3wickets for 13runs in 3 overs

“The whole team is talented and full of youngsters, 5 of our players in the 11 today have represented Sierra Leone in the ICC-Africa U-19 cricket world cup qualifier. Our players have all done really well, if they continue with their efforts, we will go far in the league!"

“We batted very well and we are pleased with our total score but our bowling needs to improve. We have been training hard and we know it will be tough to win the league but as always, we’ll do our best". said Kent Head Coach, Joseph Pessima.
