Kent Cricket Club announced partnership with The Place Hotel

Kent Cricket Club Sierra Leone is delighted to welcome The Place Hotel at Tokeh Beach to the cricket community as its new Official Accommodation Partner.

The new partnership between Kent Cricket Club and The Place Hotel is set to introduce an annual two-day Beach Cricket Festival in February 2018 for cricketers and non-cricketers in High Commissions, Embassies, NGOs, Government ministries, Agencies, Businesses, Companies and clubs to form teams to play cricket at the beach.

As part of the partnership, The Place Hotel will be the exclusive host to the Beach Cricket and part of their sponsorship to the event they will provide a traditional cricket lunch and tea for all participants. As well as offering discounted room rates to encourage participants to stay at the resort.

The club believes this will be an enormously beneficial partnership for the coming years.”

The enthusiastic CEO, Pessima confirmed that registration for the tournament will be done online at the Kent Cricket Club website www.kentcricketsl.com. And it is expected to commence on Friday 1st December 2017. Mark Maughan, Guest Services and Events Manager at The Place Hotel, asserted that Beach Cricket is great fun and it will be a great opportunity to the participating teams to play a terrific sport in a beautiful surrounding. Maughan remarked: “It’s an exciting event which will attract a lot of people to the resort. The competition will be great fun and a wonderful opportunity to showcase the beauty of Tokeh Beach”.

“Any event which brings people together can have a big impact on Sierra Leone and if it proves to be successful and continues to grow then perhaps 2019 the competition may attract tourists from overseas to enter a team”, he said.
