KENT ON THE VERGE OF PROMOTION

The Kent Cricket Club men's team are on the verge of promotion to the Sierra Leone Premier League and can confirm their top flight status at the Prince of Wales Ground, Kingtom on Saturday when they play Old Prince Waleans in a T20 match that gets underway at 9am.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game Kent's Skipper James Bundu said: “It’s just a fantastic opportunity for us to finish the Division One league second and gain promotion! "We’ve been playing some great cricket and it’s just about going out on Saturday and doing exactly the same".

Commenting on the match Kent's Head Coach, Joseph Pessima said, “It’s been a really good season for us, the whole team has been good with bat and ball and it would be great to gain promotion.

Joseph continued: “Five of our youngsters were part of the Sierra Leone U-19 team at the ICC-Africa U-19 World Cup Qualifier in South Africa including our skipper and it’s always a massive advantage having players with international experience into your side".

Entry to the match is free so anybody who wants to enjoy a day of cricket this weekend should come along to the Prince of Wales Ground, Kingtom, Freetown on Saturday and help cheer the Kent team to promotion!
