The Managing Director of Lime, Foday Sankoh has opened the first U-12 Pairs Cricket competition at the St Edwards Secondary School in Kingtom on Friday September 6th 2013.
The open ceremony was colorful with all the six teams’ comprises of 72 players including boys and girls, officials and cricket lovers all in attendance. Before declaring the competition opened Foday Sankoh said the competition is to give opportunity to the younger ones to play cricket that is why Lime Line decided to come on board. He said even though Lime Line is the prime sponsors for the Sierra Leone Cricket Association(SLCA) they can still sponsor any group that want to develop sports in the country. That is what exactly they have done to sports Kent Cricket Club (KCC).
Limeline managing Director Foday Sankoh adviced them to put up good discipline and also advice them to take their educational work very serious that is why at the end of the competition 20 of them and the executive of Kent Cricket Club are going to give them scholarship by paying one year school fees. According to Lime Line Managing Director he was moved with the turn out of the young players who are the future players of the country.
Kent Cricket Club, Chief Executive Officer, Emmanuel Pessima thanked Limeline Company for their support. As for their sponsorship they are going to see new breed of players that have knowledge in the game of cricket but does not have the opportunity to display their skills, but with this competition they would be able to discipline such skills.
