The French Charge d’Affairs to Sierra Leone, Michael Deslaimes on Sunday inspired the Kent Cricket Club KCC to an opening victory against Mid West in the just commenced Sierra Leone Cricket Association Women league at the Kingtom Ovals.
Deslaimes’ words of inspiration were a major influence to the girls as they went on to defeat Mid West by three wickets.
“You girls have performed fantastically well in the first innings and your fielding was great, you only need to complement it with a good batting quality. I believe you can do it so go out there enjoy yourself do your best and win the game. I wish you all the best,” those were the inspiring words of the French Charge d’Affairs.
Kent took the crease with a task of overpowering their opponent, Mid West who were able to end up with 67 runs all out in 14 overs. S. Koroma was Mid West’s top scorer with 21 runs before she was caught-out by Isata Koroma.
In response, Kent overpowered earlier runs with 68 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 12 overs. Meanwhile, Stadium Stars get-off a flying start with a comfortable win over the Sierra Leone Police female team.
